Brooklyn Motorized
An electric motorcycle designed for urban use with the reliability and durability to serve as a primary source of transportation while maintaining a classic 1960s racing-bike aesthetic.
Battery System
I led the battery system team, tasked with determining how the battery packs are attached to and removed from the motorcycle for convenience and security. The battery need to be portable and lightweight (for easy indoor charging), ergonomic (to accommodate 20+ lbs of battery cells), simple to remove and securely attached (to avoid any issues during operation).

Latching Mechanism
The battery is attached to the frame via rotating dongles. The dongles not only secure the battery but also serve as the electrical connector for the motor. The battery is removed by lifting a handle inside of the glove box. The lifting of the handle forces the dongles to rotate until they align with the geometry of the battery contact housing. Once aligned, the battery is sprung out and is easily accessible to the user.
